viaFrance is the mediator between local communities and event
organisers on one end, and leaders of the Internet (media, tourism
and transportation operators) on the other.
The strength of viaFrance lies its network guaranteeing access
to information, and in the knowledge of its staff in their various
genres.
viaFrance is an independent company specialised in information
technology. The site has been online since 1997. The société
viaFrance S.A.R.L. with a capital of 133.800 € was created
in January 1999. Today, viaFrance is a complete subsidiary of
ViaEuropa, S.A. with a Directoire and Conseil de Surveillance
with a capital of 652.576 €.
Originally created by a former member of the Observatoire
National du Tourisme (National Tourism Observatory), viaFrance
supplied the event database for the Direction du Tourisme for
the World Soccer Cup in 1998. viaFrance was then put in charge
of the events database for the Federation Nationale des Offices
du Tourisme et Syndicats d'Initiatives (F.N.O.T.S.I.) in 1999.
In France we currently diffuse our content via the best of
sites including Yahoo, TF1, France Telecome, Nomade, Tourism
Ministry, Liberty Surf, and to over 50 other partners on and
off line internationally.
