Description

Man and mountain.

The Dauphinois Museum, in Grenoble saw the light of day in 1906, thanks to the work of one man: Hippolyte Müller, who was a great scholar and passionate collector. His goal was simply to: "Link the first occupants of a country with those who still live there."
The Dauphinois Museum occupies the site of the ancient monastery of Sainte-Marie-d'en-Haut. Its mission is the collection, preservation, research and promotion of Alpine ethnological heritage.
You can visit the permanent collection as well as temporary exhibitions which are put on by the museum throughout the year.
