Description

In the footsteps of Corneille.

Near the Place du Vieux Marché, the Musée Pierre Corneille is the birthplace of Pierre Corneille. The author of Le Cid was born here on June 6th 1606, and lived there until 1662. Pierre Corneille's study is reconstituted in the museum, and presents an opportunity to admire authentic seventeenth century furniture. First editions of Pierre Corneille's works are carefully preserved in the library.

In addition, Rouen enthusiasts will be interested to see a large model of the Place du Vieux Marché (where Joan of Arc was burned) in the sixteenth century.
