Cut by the Oise River, the city of Creil has had a rich and difficult history. Discover Creil through its heritage, cultural or otherwise, and its monuments. One of the more notable sites in the town is the "Tufs" houses, those troglodyte residences that tell us a great deal about how locals are close to nature. The local château, a prestigious, stunning edifice, also draws many visitors through the years.

Creil is known for its various traditional arts and crafts; local tin-glazed earthenware is exceptionally good and has been a tradition since the 18th century.
